Built at the Intersection of Law, Technology, and Finance

We didn't build AssemblyEngine from the outside looking in. Our team combines decades of commercial lending and legal expertise with deep AI engineering. We've lived the pain of slow closings, manual doc prep, and outside counsel bottlenecks. That's why we're building something better.

Leadership

Darpan Saini

Darpan Saini

CEO & Co-Founder

Before founding AssemblyEngine, Darpan was General Manager of Q2 Lending and co-founder of Cloud Lending Solutions, building the enterprise lending software that banks and credit unions run on. He saw firsthand how commercial loan closings remained one of the last manual, paper-heavy processes in banking, and now drives AssemblyEngine's product vision: AI agents that reason about each deal the way your best loan closer would, not just fill templates.

Dub Sutherland

Dub Sutherland

Chief Legal Officer & Co-Founder

Dub is Managing Partner at Kennedy Sutherland, where he represents financial institutions and private companies across debt financing, M&A, and securities, and serves as Vice Chairman of TransPecos Banks. That rare combination of practicing attorney and bank operator is built directly into how AssemblyEngine's AI agents reason about deals, so every closing package reflects real judgment, not generic templates.

Before AssemblyEngine, Aakash built production financial systems at Solid, a Series B fintech. He leads the engineering and AI architecture behind the platform: AI agents that apply legal reasoning at scale, with the full audit trails and explainable reasoning that regulated institutions can stand behind.

Bryant Massey

Bryant Massey

Chief Revenue Officer & Co-Founder

Bryant has spent his career on the commercial side of banking and lending technology, leading enterprise sales to community banks and credit unions at Abrigo (acquired by KKR) and guiding lending, credit underwriting, and risk modeling for Tier 1 institutions at Moody's. At AssemblyEngine, he leads revenue and go-to-market, drawing on deep relationships across banking and a firsthand understanding of how lending institutions buy and adopt technology.

Why We're Different

Most legal tech tools are built by engineers who've never closed a commercial loan. We started with the legal expertise and built the technology around it.

Domain-First, Not Tech-First

Our AI agents are trained on the actual policies, standards, and jurisdictional requirements that govern commercial lending. We didn't start with a general-purpose model and hope it would figure out lending. We started with lending and built the AI to serve it.

Human-in-the-Loop, Always

We believe AI should empower your team, not replace it. Every document AssemblyEngine generates is reviewable, every reasoning step is explainable, and your closers approve before anything moves forward.

Built for Regulated Institutions

Bank-grade security, full audit trails, and compliance baked into every layer. We didn't bolt on compliance as an afterthought. It's foundational to how the platform works.
